Gorditas and Weekend warrior

So our weekend warrior left Peanut and I for not just a day shift but for 2 and a half days. Life always is interesting. Last Harry Potter book club loved it because I got to see my long lost friend from Colorado Springs and her baby. It was the highlight of the night! Love my Harry Potter book club and hoping that we will read a different series together.

Peanut and I went to my dear friend's house on Saturday and I learned how to make Gorditas. Before knowing my friend I thought gorditas were made-up from Taco Bell to sell to the masses. I didn't know they are a real great Mexican food. So we made the corn tortilla using about two cups corn flour and water. Put them on a skillet and cooked them. When cooled down cut them like a pita pocket-delicious. The filling was beans, meat, potatoes, sour cream, cheese and salsa. The salsa was made with 4 tomillas, 3 Jalapenos, 1 onion and 1 tomato roasted then blended added chicken stock cube and some salt, perfection for salsa verde.

Some days you just meet up with people you thought were kind and loving when you first met them but you were grossly wrong and discover that they are careless and rude, Sunday was that day discovery. I had to teach a class and no one to watch Peanut, these two older ladies clearly were annoyed with the thought of my child or any child for that  manner . Crazy and annoying day. I was so glad when we picked up Mr. Incredible.

Apples, Apples, Apples

My dear friend invited us over to get apples from her family tree and juice them. It was awesome, Peanut loved every minute of it. He was going around always with an apple in hand and tried to eat the rotten apples on the ground while chasing the dogs. We got a ton of apples which are beautifully sweet.

We love going to Thai Ginger, Peanut loves the pork dumplings. I'm grateful for the fun times. That is all for now!

Halloween

Peanut was Winnie the Pooh for Halloween and it fit his build perfectly. On Friday we went to the Littleton library and enjoyed the costume parade. Peanut walked all around the downstairs area the longest walking he has done looking like Frankstein holding out his little chubby hands and arms in front of him to balance. The library apparently thought that parents were going to eat all the cookies and drink all the juice so they called out a declaration that the food was only for the children.

Then our dear friend watched Peanut so Mr. Incredible and I could go on a date to Yogurtland which is awesome. Paying 30 cents per ounce, we got about 2 pounds. It was yummy! Then I decided to make a nursing cover for another friend of mine. It would look perfect if I did a straight hem. It still looks good despite my crazy hem lines because its silver and black floral fabric.
The baby shower that I went to that night was excellent. I hate when people tell you other people's problems when you are asking whom someone is. We will call this lady whom I know to much about Lucy. When in acquiring what this Lucy was, I got told the inferitility problems of this Lucy who I can't even tell you what she looks like. So if I meet this said Lucy I know all of her problems medically.

I didn't go to medical school people, so I thought I could avoid conversations like this that make me a hue of green especially about someone I don't even know. But at last the Hulk coloring will remain on my face when people will tell me of their or others birthing problems.

Saturday was the church's trunk or treat celebration, which had a bounce house on the lawn who had the funding or donated that. It was awesome! Peanut fall on the cement trying to walk on a downward slope and got a goose egg on his head. After a good cry was better. We left the party to go to downtown trick or treating which bought a load of candy which we got the Ghostly Dots Movie theater sized from Lola's sugar rush. We shopped and enjoyed the time. After we went to another mall area to trick or treat which was fun to see all the costumes. They even had a dog costume contest.
After that shopping and event we went to the Victorian Halloween celebration in 1860s style at the museum which was the funniest for us. Peanut was chopping on this tiny apple from my friend's apple tree and we went bobbling for apples and through out his tiny one which he cried over until he saw the huge granny smith apple and devoured it. Well it was great to get the candy, Peanut loved it! That is all for now!

Gumballs can be daunting

So on Friday we had a day full of shopping with my dear friend, Mr. Incredible and Peanut. It was the Just Between Friends sale in Douglas County awesome deals, well organized. Mr. Incredible was amazing with figuring which strollers and car seats worked and how for my friend. Peanut found a tonka truck and pushed it around the whole show floor not realizing that marble was different then what he is used to which is carpet so the truck would speed up and he could not hang on. Then he cry that the truck escaped his grasp, all the women were in awe at the sight of the chubby 2 foot guy racing around the floor.

Hunger struck our party before the rain blasted us, we ended up at Cheesecake Factory and devoured divine meals always with cheesecake then headed for another leg of shopping. Which landed us at the daunting kids outlet store Gumballs that was like a bomb hit a kids mall and vomited up products covering everything. I was afraid Peanut would get lost in the merchandise and never be found. Though there was alot of brand new and great products it was just tad bit overbearing. Great cheap prices though. I was glad there was no earthquake I would not have survived.

Then off to baby depot in Burlington coat factory highly recommend baby store hidden secret. Love that place and its sales. Once Upon Child was on the list, Peanut was the model for a graco cherry blossom stroller, he is one of the few babies you look at and there is no doubt in your mind that he is all boy. Well that is all for now!

Politics and Candy Shop War

Colorado Elections are just around the corner. So, I decided with the family night of politics like my Dad did long ago with his children in hopes it will become a tradition. We get informed about the all the propositions, amendments and candidates. Then we have two ballots each one on which we guess what the outcome will be and the second what we are going to vote for. What I wish is that the US politics would be multi party system instead of two parties. I hate the social cultural tattoo that has been in recent to not discuss politics that is why we do this to be informed on issues that effect our lives both federally and statewide. Now on to my review of the Candy Shoppe War by Brandon Mull.

The Book Club for the Candy Shoppe War was fun, with sugar drops and brain washing white fudge. It's a good book for people who are Harry Potter fans. Though it is more of a tween age reader level its still great. I would read it if you have not. That is all!

Cavalia

After a week of adventure and misadventures with teething Peanut and great Filipino food. At last the weekend, joyous time for it was time to go to Cavalia. A fabulous show with horses and acrobats. It was better then what I thought it would be. Seriously, seeing acrobats doing tricks on full speed gallopping horses there can be nothing as amazing. I'm so glad we decided to go to Cavalia instead of the circus which is in town.
At one point in the show you see a ball that looks like the boulder straight out of Indiana Jones and the acrobat balances on top and does back flips on the boulder with easy and holding a torch at the beginning lite with fire. Well Adieu, Peanut is in need of a nap.

Dol it up with tigers

Peanut's birthday is coming up soon. I have been it for about 6 months now. Dol is a huge Korean tradition of celebrating the child's birthday because the child has survived. I know we are not Korean but Mr. Incredible is a linguist and he was not here for the birth of Peanut so it's a huge deal to us. I'm super excited and stressed. We are using the theme little tigers and trying to use traditional screens for the background with balloons. I forgot to the party is in Texas to maximize the amount of family and friends that will come. I'm about to print the invites. I have to create a save the date web page and order all of the many party favors that I have picked out.
I love all things lanterns hence the photo of what I'm going to do just add a cute little tiger to it. I am making cupcake tops with him in a tiger costume, it's way cute. Cupcake toppers are not hard to make at all

.

How to make easy cupcake circular toppers
Supplies: Print photos of what you want to use about a quarter size, tooth picks, scissors that cut patterns (are the cutest), stock paper that fits the theme, and clear tape.
Step 1: Gather supplies
Step 2: Cut photos in circles and tape or glue them to the paper, then cut.
Step 3: Tape finished circles to toothpicks
Step 4: Put them on cupcakes and enjoy.

Leaves to the Dark side

Yesterday I went shopping on this very unpopulated road in town which means the speed limit is up to 50 mph, which is always a plus. I always had thought that west coast Falls just were not as impressive as New England falls, until I saw one tree by the road that was bright yellow leaves silhouetted against the blue cloudless sky equals perfection. Ahh, I love the fall here even though I miss the East Coast.
So , a couple of weekends ago Mr. Incredible and I found Peanuts' birthday gift which is a Stars Teddy Bear from build-a-bear. These awesome star wars bears invaded build a bear for a limited time. Mr. Incredible says "every man needs have a teddy bear". Peanut got to choose which bear he wanted the darkside, yes darth vader is the one he choose. I thought of the South Korean Teddy Bear Musuem and hope they pay tribute be getting the blue harvest colored bear dressed in all the star wars clothes posed as the movie posters were. The 80s movie poster is like classic art, right?

Well I'm off to finish The Candy Shop War book again and get things finished for the book club. Adieu for now!

Scarecrows festival

Another weekend adventure at our house was the scarecrow festival in Arvada we were pumped up from our Harry Potter book club from the night before. Yes, I said Harry Potter we are nerds! I even made cupcake toppers with most of the characters. One of friends made an awesome looking cake and wands made out of starbursts and tootsie rolls.

So on saturday we went to downtown of Arvada which was extremely fun. They had a ton of scarecrows decorated all around the square and on various streets. Mr. Incredible throughly enjoyed the Harry Potter one. I was digging the wicked witch one. Peanut was getting frustrated after a few hours so we did not go to the water tower 100th celebration to hear the winners. They had a costume parade and many activities for the kids. We even went to the army surplus store and got a pair of binoculars for Cavalia next weekend.

My dreams were completely diminished when I discovered on the hayride was pulled around by John Deer Tractors instead of horses. Yes, going around a little quaint town on horse would have been fun like Gilmore Girls. Weird as that is, I love the feel of small towns.

We even got to see the zombie crawl in Littleton where a mass of zombies were learning the dance moves to Thriller, before they mobbed Littleton streets. That is all for now!

Nook the beast

So on Tuesday our Joovy Nook high chair was delivered to the door. I love when I don't have to go down two flights of stairs to just turn around and haul up the goods. After I put it up, Peanut was jumping on it because he was so excited to have it here. The leather look is like a lexus and the compact fold makes it excellent for small spaces. Peanut was pushing the food all around the tray because he was eating from the Bumbo before. Bananas were not his favorite but he gleefully throw them on the ground and watch mommy and daddy pick off the floor.

I know non-vegetarian Men tend to like to eat at least one creature if not more per meal, I just did not know how young it starts until today. Peanut devoured his creature like a beast. I've tried to feed Peanut salmon, chicken but he did not enjoy it. Our Dr. suggested that we try hot dogs, the thought kind of grossed me out not fully being able to identify what the meat is. So I got some bison, he was happily eating it so much that, none of it was purposely thrown on the floor. That is all!

Weekend warrior

So last weekend Mr. Incredible went to his weekend warrior duty, I'm proud of him. Which I told him to take the car to avoid the temptation to go to cider festival in lakewood or the historical denver harvest festival, when I should be staying at home filling my mind with power through the great words of inspired men for a total of 8 hours for both Saturday and Sunday. Which I did avoid temptation and I was changed by listening to their words.

Peanut is liking the running thing, he looks like an old man running from one support to the next with little balance and grace. Though saturday was a cooler day in Co. I could not open the glass door to let the breeze in for fear of old man peanut falling out and the continous traffic of squirrels on the balcony. I'm terrified that they are going to come into the apartment! So I need ideas on how to get them to stay away. Peanut also did not just have one tooth cut but 4 teeth on Saturday and Sunday. Well that is all for now, Peanut just woke up!

Recycling Glass is not easy

So I really really like izze a 70% juice that fizzes because of the carbonated water. It's locally made in CO but most of you can get it from Whole Foods. So it comes in a glass container, I didn't realize how hard it is to find a place to recycle glass containers until I went looking for it. I had to find a data base I thought recycling those energy effective bulbs with mercury in them was bad gone. I want to save the planet but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg to just recycle!

Dear businesses that are concerned with the planets survival if you make glass please have a way for us to easily help save the planet to. That is all!

Moment of Laziness leads to squirrels

So yesterday, I needed to take out the trash and with Peanut I did not have 10 minutes to walk down the two set of stairs and across the street to the Dumpster. So I thought it would be in ingenious of me to put it out on the balcony until I had that moment to take it out... not thinking that we have trees right outside the balcony and in those trees are active rodents. I can't believe I forgot about those squirrels and how last winter they were scurrying across 2 feet of snow capped roofs. They probably could survive a nuclear spill too, with an extra eye or two! So you can only what happened to my trash!

I discovered the holey plastic bags with apple shaving scattered across the balcony in the morning. When Peanut was asleep I took out the trash. First I had to scare a hungry squirrel looking for its meal. I successfully accomplished this by banging loudly on the glass and screaming. It reminded me of when I was in New Delhi and had to scare monkeys away from stealing my clean laundry that was hanging to dry. Though at least the squirrels wanted food the monkeys were just mocking me. Never again will I have a lazy moment with the trash again!

Apple scars

We got a winner spaghetti squash, it is! Mr. Incredible cooked one properly and scientifically proved to me it was indeed a spaghetti squash. So down two squash about a bazillion to go!
So, my friend had a harvest of apples which she gave me some and I gave her some squash. Great apples to cook with. Once again with apples, as bakers of squash they don't tell you how to cook or if you have to peel in a recipe. My hands have felt dead the last two days due to having to peel apple slices that had already been dipped in lemon water. Then I got a cut on my finger only to discover it with the lemon juice, PAIN.... is all I feel that is appropriate to say.

Dear apple recipe makers, think of the layman that does not encounter apples every other day and write the recipes for them. Make it so common sense does not have to be only limited to you. Please think of my hands when making your recipes of sweet delights. I know we are in America but can someone please make a recipe with apples that is a sweet accent and not buried in sugar. That is all!

Daddyathon and pumpkins of unusual sizes

After waking up from a zombie nightmare that was induced by reading about the 2009 Zombie Crawl in Denver, where a zombie mob attacked the Mall Bus of people not playing the game leaving bloody hand prints on the windows. Nothing makes me want to get my concealed weapon permit more then having a zombie attack you in the streets of Denver.

I have been awaiting this Baby Expo by Bebe Productions all week so I got out of bed bright and early in a happy mood despite of the nightmare. We get there, I find the Joovy Nook, the Lexus of all highchairs in my opinion, in that the tray is dishwasher safe and that it folds up compact. I tried and loved it, the bonus is they were offering 30 dollars off and free shipping. Sweet!
Mr. Incredible signed up for the Daddyathon a marathon for Daddies that includes changing clothes, diapers and squeezing a bottles contents into a cup. He won the first round, the second round lost! So we did not win the Britax stroller that would have been resold right away, I love my city mini stroller. But in my book he was the winner, he was helping the worker set up for all the rounds!

We take off from the expo with all the free rubber ducks and bags. Peanut has been chopping away at these rice cakes that are in the shape of a banana called mum-mum, still unsure whether he liked the taste or not, they are flavorless.

Next stop, Jared's Annual Pumpkin weigh in for the great pumpkin where "size does matter". Truly amazing to see multiples of pumpkins weighing in over 1000 pounds. The winner weighed in at 1536 lbs, what a huge monster it was. We got a bunch of pictures of Peanut with those behemoths, at least he did not try to take a bite out of it, like he did with our pumpkin at home. That is all with the weekend adventures for now!

Fall time

Friday is family day seeing Mr. Incredible has no school. So we went to Colorado Springs to hike Seven Falls before the ice and snow came and go to Edelweiss. Mr. Incredible hiked with Peanut on his back up the falls. Having conquered Wieliczka Salt mine in Poland before I thought there would be no problem. I was regrettably wrong, the evaluator was up to the shop and a bird's view of the falls and not up to the Falls itself.

224 steps up to the top of the falls. I got up 125 stairs and stayed at Shorty Falls unable to handle those rod iron stair case, they made me dizzy being on the side of the mountain the elevation didn't work on my side either. I think that if I did it at night it would have be perfect like the salt mines. Mr. Incredible hiked up all the Falls and back down enthusiastically with peanut. At length of... oh about 30 minutes I got back down those 125 steps with my legs feeling like jelly. Apparently my slowness clogged up traffic coming down and those people it not bother to go around me. I was fully clinging to only the right rail, so it would have been easy to go around me people.

After the Falls, we went to Edelweiss a German restaurant in Colorado springs. Love that place! With all the German speakers and atmosphere I felt like I was back in Europe. You got your kaiser rolls and real butter. Celebrating Oktoberfest with out all the beer.
Then we stopped at the Crazy Elephant to enjoy their Sweet Charity market. Where a bunch of charities were selling wears to support their causes. We bought sunglasses, jewelry and cards benefiting children's literacy and diabetes. It was awesome! Thank you Crazy Elephant for hosting the event!
Off to Tango class for our last lesson. Mr. Incredible does not know he own strength at times, I was man handled doing the step called the hook! Well that ends my Friday travels.

Shakespeare-esqe Antoine Dodson

My youngest brother enlightmented me with this twist of shakespeare on the modern society you tube music by Antoine Dodson. Which give me great delight, hopefully you will find it as fun!

Lo, they climb through yonder window,

They snatcheth up thine persons,

The wise man sayeth; Hide yon wives,

Hide yon children, yea, hide yon husbands as well,

For they are violating all and sundry.

I say to thee: confess thee not.

For we seek thee, and we shall find thee.

For thou art a fool, thou art truly a fool.

So run, run! Cry it out in the land, homeboy.

Boils and family photos

Family pictures remind me of Charles Dickens Tale of Two Cities being that it can be the best and worst of times. So my husband whom I shall call from now on Mr. Incredible and I were looking through our photos. I stopped at one of the shots of us by a tree to the left of my face the shadow makes it look like I have hives on first glance. Then on second glance, it appeared to be a growth of hair coming out of my brow and off the edge of my cheek bone.

So I turned to Mr. Incredible asking "Does it looks like patches of hair growth?" Thinking that if one one saw this photo they think I was related to cousin it or distantly a wookie.

He said jokingly "no, it looks like boils!" I couldn't help but laugh and thought of the wicked witch from oz. Well, I'm off!

Squash, what variety are you?

Perplexed, greatly I am! Having cooked about two of those yellowish greenish white squashes in the photo. I assumed they were spaghetti squash. Looking at the pictures of what other people call the said spaghetti squash I'm not so sure, it seems to be more fibrous then mine just slicing into it. Mine looks like a pumpkin.

I know what you are thinking, you grew them why don't you know what seeds you used!
My husband bought so many varieties of squash that I'm unsure. Our garden as you can tell from the photo has brought us a bountiful harvest, that is just from one day. We have like 8 more of those squashes in the car.

The X squash as I will call now, tastes like a pumpkin and has tougher skin then a butternut. Maybe a summer squash or a winter squash! Whatever X is I'm getting tired of making casseroles and of cutting into that squash. I look like a psycho beast when I'm doing it. Watch out Freddy Krueger's in the kitchen, hacking to death the life of poor innocent unknown squash! Only if those delightful X squashes grew with softer skin it would make my fall cooking easier. Maybe we can get a scientist to create a hybrid of a squash with softer skin like a fruit. I mean FDA has accommodated hybrids in the market for a awhile now. That's all for now! I'm on the hunt for an international cuisine with squash in it. When I discover what X squash is I will let you know!

Walking to running in one night

For family home evening we were watching Back to the Future classic 80's film, right during the part when the lightening strikes,. I look up to see my little peanut take his first steps and call to his Dad to see the momentous steps. In which we all clap and shout hooray for him. Little did we know the mind of our peanut.

It's time for bed and Dad is about to carry him off to start the bed time ritual of putting on his overnight diaper(that makes him look like a warrior who destroyed the muppet Grover and made a loin cloth out of the skin). Peanut's legs vividly flung into action running away from Daddy, but having little experience with balance. He ran fast clinging on to the sofa, then the sofa ended... he hit the carpet. Dad picked up the giggling peanut who was clearly proud of his get away attempt.

Both my husband and I said at the same time " we are in trouble!" Just barely walking and he trying is run. Advice to my peanut, master walking before running little one, so you don't eat the floor as much!

Commode

Please my little peanut don't play in the commode! I know it's tempting and you have succumb to the temptation of joyously splashing the water all over the place and giggling. You are cute but Momma can't handle another clean up like that. That is all!

victory dance

I'm following up to tell ya'll that I didn't burn down the kitchen when I was making Pancit Canton. Yes, it was a possiblity! With the onion I felt like my eyes were watering out of their sockets, but the hubby said it was good! Sweet victory! I go now to finish my happy dance!

H mart

My husband really likes me to cook as you know. He considers it a special treat and wanted me to cook him a special dinner for his birthday, he loves all asian cuisines so I decided on making him a Phillipiano dish. Which one of my greatest friends gave me the recipe.

So we drove out to H Mart, the biggest asian market here in denver, I love that store it is like being in India but cleaner and many more languages spoken from different parts of the planet, surprisingly we were not the only white people in the store. We got oyster sauce, pork, flour noodles, cabbage.... no mexican chorizarrio. The mexican butchers who did not know English very well, told us "no sell, no sell." Amazing how those two can work in an asian mart where most of the staff only speaks Korean, they got mad survival skills.

At the huge check out line waiting, one of the korean workers comes up to me and starts telling me " you veggie order is ready" the universal dumbfounded look on my face of "wha.." told her I was the wrong person. She and I would have remained in our state of confession, if the other white woman did not claim her order. My husband and I laughed as we both said at the same time " You see one white person you've them all!" Off to cook his meal!

Tango of the argentine variety

I can't help but get joyous when we head to dance the Argentinian Tango. It's backward to other dances like the fox trot, waltz, and other american dances. It made my head spin at the first lesson, when I have to do the leg cross then remember that my right leg and foot were suppose to function and move quickly after. Now I can envision myself doing it really well one day. Truly my dancing weakness is overthinking the steps. When my grandma taught me to dance she is such a strong lead I can't help but be forced into whatever spot on the dance floor she wants me to be. I'm grateful my husband really enjoys the tango to he likes it because as he says "its like walking," on his part to be sure. Great date night dancing! Well that is all!

Ahh Fall

Love this season! Butternut squash soup, leaves changing, chillier weather, yea parties, harvesting season, but my favorite by far is fashion week. Deeply superficial you say? Perhaps?
The time when one gets to see who is sitting next Anna Wintour on the front row and which celebrities walk the catwalk. Christian Siriano's collection caught my with the colors and flowers made of fabric bellowing over. I got a giggle of delight!

New York times reported that the designers were looking for unique beauty which this season is classified as gap teeth. I don't see it! I when Queen Elizabeth's Era liked high foreheads. I pretty sure that fad I bet will not last long. It makes the catwalk more interesting to be sure with the 1950s updo's this season and the touch of Jacquie and Aubrey. I enjoy watching the regal looks of gowns as opposed to the Wang "Kill Bill" look.

Related to fashion, yet a tangent... France has banded berqa's. Though I know the french don't like anything that imposes on their culture but banning berqas which only effects 2,000 or more women in the country according to WSJ.com is a bit much. What the government is trying to over come in surpressing those women by banning their berqas is surpressing them lower so they will not have any way to get out of the house.... Well that is all for now. I'm off to enjoy some butternut squash soup and an izze.

Domestic thing

So, as of late, I decided to cook every night for my husband, he gets home at 7:30. Dinner awaits him, which is truly unusual considering, before this he could count on his hand how many times I cooked for him. I like to cook things from scratch always, that is why I didn't do it often. We have a community garden plot (as some of you may know) with an abundance of squashes, pumpkin and zucchini.

I have taken the challenge to cook said squash and zucchini. Stuff zucchini sounded good, after all the zucchini bread and cake, it sounded like a relief. So I followed the recipe exactly, having been accused of being illiterate while baking in past, it said cook the zucchini in the microwave for 5 minutes on high. No further instructions on step number 2. Four minutes later I hear a canon shot thunk and see the zucchini split bottom. Step number 2 never instructed me to fork the zucchini. Why use a recipe if you have to think for yourself?

Writers of squash and zucchini as a beginning baker/cook of the veggies that are tough skinned. I plead with you in behalf of my poor microwave that may never recover from the hard hit blow, please include the simple steps of forking the tough skinned beast before nuking it's nutrients out. That is all!

Take 2

It worked somewhat, though it looked like rejected brown taffy. It is the technique that I need to perfect and get the wax a pinch more sticky. At first we way over cooked it so we added water and microwaved it. My legs feel very smooth and have alot less hair. After these first two tries I can understand why salons don't do it. To make the right consisentence is an art, not alot of people want to take the time to perfect. I will keep you up to date on the experiment.

Sugar Wax Experiment take one

I'm under the thought that beauty should be as painless as possible. Therefore I'm trying sugar wax, I have sensative skin and on my eyebrows I love threading more then twissing. Sugar waxing is a less painful then regular wax. Cooked up the sugar today and it was way to sticky to work with: we, of course, only realized that after applying it to an area of my leg. I'm excited to try again dispite the failure. The sugar exfoliated my skin and did not inflame my skin eventhough it was underdone and sticky.

My little man is screaming like a banshee. Maybe it's because he learned how to rollover this week. So I will write more later.

You know you're in Utah when...

1. Walmart has a food storage section and an LDS inspirational center.
2. "Sister missionary mall" and " Will deliver to MTC same day" are advertised on billboards along the freeway.
3. Food vendors are outside the conference center for the crowds.
4. People herd on sidewalks and don't cut across the grass going to conference.
5. People begging for general conference tickets instead of scalping tickets with pathetic signs like" Need 2 tickets drove all the way from Canada."
6. Restaurant with 15-20 specialty drinks on the menu, all non-acohalic.
7. Anti-mormons screaming hellfire to all- next to temple square only to outstaged by a choir singing LDS hymns louder.
8." RM jobs make it through school debt free" were seen near the college campus.
9. Guys sitting outside their car with a cooler in white shirts and ties, looking like they were at a tail gate party, but just waiting for the next session of conference.
10. Workers at the local college hang out that name tags that had their full name on it and where they were from.

Don't forget to go...

Living here in Colorado and realizing that with a newborn there is no easy way to travel outside of the US for sometime. My wanderlust is onset, it's like a disease. So I figured I would quinch my thrist in country. Within short distances. I have been researching some fun things to do here and in the USA I learned of some unusual festivals here that I want to go to at least once.

The first one being the Frozen Dead Guy Days in Nederland CO, yes I know it sounds odd but a winter feastival is always fun especially when it's in celebration of a grandpa frozen in ice awaiting for reaniamination. The parade of hereas is a bonus and the tour of the shed sounds hileriously funny to see. I'm sad I missed it this year.

Fruita CO has it's Mike the headless chicken Fest, the town of Fruita celebrates a chicken that has survived years without a head. Weird doesn't even describe it. I think the reason the city of Fruita made it up to compete with Palisade. The Peach Festival is well own and loved by all. Fruita has a chicken that has survived being headless therefore they using it to make a buck. The festives include a chicken dance, contests. Sounds like a no brainer.

Another feastival for all you environmentalists is the Beetle Feastival to raise awareness of how a particular beetle is damaging the woods up in the mountains. They have a beetle stomp where no beetles get damaged in the 4K run yet the runners can dress up in costumes. I think of the Santa 10K in Vegas and I'm looking for the Elvis one.
