I forgot to post about my favorite man's birthday bash. Mr Incredible had a birthday he's so high up on the hill he's getting nose bleeds. I'm so glad he was born and we got to be together for so long. He's awesome! All he wanted for his birthday like he has for the past few years was a birthday party. I even threw in a day of going off and shooting next month in there. He loves to shoot, I'm encouraging him to hunt, by telling him we will buy a freezer for whatever he hunts, and to make it fair he can go bow hunting or use black powder.
We had about 20 of our friends, butternut squash soup and a great Costco cake. Peanut had a hard time sharing all of his toys. But it worked out perfectly! Happy birthday my love! You are the best!

Photos + Politics
So Peanut was ok for the photo shoot today with a clip on bow tie(made by yours truly this morning) that was red polka dots and black shirt, bribed with candy to leave both on. Little C just didn't like the light in her eyes. I got her to model for a few hair clips at home which she did until she got the angry elf face on then we stopped the session. We opted to go home and watch top model and eat lunch after the photo shoot and not the giant pumpkin weigh in event and the scavenger hunt on main street...boring I know...but with kids I've had to go their pace, at least for this season in my life. Top model steam punk and video games... awesome!
Tis' the season for the annoying political surveys, seriously leave me alone political nuts, I hate that
voters registration is public and that anyone can call everyone on the list or come to their door and ask if you voted or whom they will vote for. Such actions I hate...but grateful I'm in a free country and can politely vocalize my annoyance and not get punished! I'm a liberal with different opinions on each key issue!
My opinion on the candidates at this time can be summed up in my La Mars donut experience a few weeks ago with mitt yummy in the shape of an elephant and blue sugar and dough obama in the shape of a donkey and red sugar, they looked different but tasted the same. With that being said the president is not whom I look at for my failures, nor our countries failures. Seriously, I'm more concerned with the congress and senate, limit their terms, those guys have no clue what goes on in the world at times.
My favorite things about election time, besides the debates and concerns with respects to the middle east, are the cookie recipes that the first ladies and runner up wife makes public and their fashion attire throughout the debates. Deeply superficial, perhaps but so is the idea that they understand the common US citizen's life and daily life routines. They are not like us commoners, so I admire their designer names and fashion statements like I do the royal family and long to buy their dresses. BBC news is my favorite place to learn the least bias info in simple terms. Like I've said before I wish we had a stronger multi party system. Apricot Iron Chef tonight! Super excited!

Fall days
So I've been crazy busy.... but not with blogging. Go figure. So what has gone on in my my life. Little C is more of a long C and has an obsession with clothes and tutus. All things girly! Peanut is as crazy as ever talking more and climbing up to the top of the cabinets in the kitchen. Give him a good 5 minutes to himself and he will create hours for me to clean. He's so thoughtful! He tells Mr. Incredible that C's korker hair bows are weird. I've been busy cursing at my camera and computer for not working properly, I've joined the frilled lizard boutique team, I'm creating and marketing for them. Bow ties, tutus, boy ties, hairclips, boots and dying onesies are what I've been doing. Mr Incredible is still our weekend warrior and will graduate soon. The family debate South Korea or Paris for the celebration of the new grad. So far Korean beaches are winning. Little C and Peanut have been fab models for me and other professionals hopefully that luck will continue to saturday when we take family pictures. We are excited to go see Van Gogh exhibit in October and Day in Pompeii tomorrow. Happy fall day!

Afternoon high tea
So, as a belated birthday gift Mr. Incredible surprised me with an afternoon high tea at the Brown Palace. It was awesome, I felt like Annie at Daddy Warbucks mansion with the servers uniforms looking like 19th century maids and the real silver. Ahhh... memories, all those many musically- filled hours at the mortuary watching Annie! ...Yes... I said mortuary, my grandparents lived in an apartment attached to one and I went there after school alot. With many siblings at home-- I liked feeling in charge of the remote and my grandparents granted me that rare opportunity...they gladly forbore my singing and dancing in front of the tv as well as encouraged it, while my sibling run from it.
One cannot beat the experience of having an accomplished pianist play happy birthday on the grand piano and many people whom I don't know, sing out of tune...all for me! It is what dreams are made of! The vanilla roobios tea and the white chocolate Mandarin Orange scones were divine! Ahh, Mr. Incredible made a wonderful choice!

Car troubles
| from pinterest.com |
"Are you joking with me?" I said to Mr. Incredible apparently while he was driving home late lat night the check engine light went on again after we already repaired the brakes and got the works done on it, and revisited Meineke for that very reason just two days before. So naturally, I assume its a conspiracy against me by Meineke in order to get more money and make it so I'm stuck at home on our last days of vacation .
Come to find out, from a nice Italian mechanic named Mario, that was not the case the air sensor was truly broken.. I-70 would have had been more polluted if we went on our trip. Paliasade will have to wait... Sadden by the fact that we won't run in the Peach fest 5 miler or little C won't get to show off her peach and bees apparel from Gymboree and be at grandmas house with our shirts covered in peach juice on Saturday. Thankfully our family will be there when we visit next time even if the peaches are not!
So the newly altered plan is going to the Denver Nature and science museum or DAM, indoor swimming pool today. I found the coolest swim classes in the area, teaching one on one child survival swimming techniques. Watch that video on the page it's awesome... the price not so much, but the fact that they learn to survive in water and not drown priceless. I want to start them in the fall or winter! Waterworld adventure tomorrow (with the already bought tickets)...kid free for a few hours. Yay! There are moments of joy in what was first viewed as a disaster! I love life!

Alone with children survival 101
Mr. Incredible again went off as a weekend warrior for 2 weeks training to defend our country. Leaving me with Peanut and little C. Clingy Peanut became.... and surprisingly jealous of little C. Here are my survival skills that I used.
1. Take naps when the kids are napping. It was rare when they napped at the same time...but when they did-it was divine and so did I.
2. Time outs are beautiful, at least for Peanut. Spanking was not effective due to the huge cloth diaper he would just giggle at me.Time out were a threat to his freedom and he hated that idea.
3. Peanut is a runner, so when going out harnesses in the shape of a monkey are a delight.Even if it looked like i was dragging him through the water park it worked, preventing him from being drown. So it prevented him from being squashed by a car Peanut.
4. Meet up with friends often that enjoy your kids (even if they are running wild because they don't understand why Daddy left or when he's getting back). Thank you my lifesaving friends and family! I'm so grateful and indebted to your kindness in overlooking our wildness and being willing to hang out with us.
5. Talk to friends.... taking a break from munchkin language and loneliness is necessary. So many days blended together because I had no break from the kiddos. Talking to my friends was that welcomed break and desperately needed.
6. Enjoy the time, for me I realize when I'm bored I clean and organize a lot. I only discovered that! Mr. Incredible probably hopes that I would do that more often, because I deep clean everything I can get my hands on.
7. Don't run yourself too thin! The park will always be there, the pool party can wait....don't force your kiddos to be on a schedule when they are cranky. I took them both to a Spanish class for Peanut and he became bored to whining and started to act up. We left the class hoping that yoga and swim class will produce different results in the future.
When Mr. Incredible came home I felt I could breath, take a shower and an added bonus sleep in! Glad you are back!
